KUALA LUMPUR: The Ice Skating Association of Malaysia (ISAM) have claimed that someone is plotting to bring down their president, Fadzli Johan and tarnish the association’s good name.
This came following the claims that a national skater, though not eligible, had received a gold medal as part of the 3,000m short track speed skating relay team that triumphed at last August’s Sea Games
“I have all the facts registered by the OCM (Olympic Council of Malaysia) and now they (the accusers) are trying to manipulate the information.”
“I will make this public and try to bring the culprit down to his knees,” said Fadzli today.
Fadzli whose second son, Muhammad Ameer Iman, is the skater in question, claimed that the plot against him started when he was appointed as the Chef-de-Mission for the Asian Winter Games in Sapporo, last year.
“(He) wanted to bring me down as he was against me being the CDM for the Asian Winter Games, and from there, these issues keep growing as he had promised his friend that he would be the CDM.”
It was also reported that the matter will be brought to OCM independent disciplinary board chairman Datuk Seri Jaharberdeen Mohamad Yunoos. Fadzli said he’s ready to face the board.
“I am ready as ever to meet the advisory board and to move forward for Sea Games 2019. We are here to develop the sport and not to kill the sport which unites Malaysians from all walks of life.”
